T&T Assets Group LTD, at the Tower of London: Derby's Partnership is a £13 Billion Tower of Strength

We had the great privilege of attending Marketing Derby’s 18th annual London Embassy. This event highlighted the incredible investment opportunities in Derby. Held at the iconic Tower of London, the venue beautifully mirrored the strength and history of Derby’s public-private sector collaboration.

The evening was truly remarkable, with over 200 guests, including bondholders, investors, and key stakeholders, in attendance. The energy in the room was electric, filled with excitement and optimism about Derby’s future. We enjoyed private tours led by the Yeoman Warders, featuring a stunning view of the Crown Jewels. The historic backdrop, adorned with a moving ceramic poppy display, served as a testament to Derby's enduring spirit.

The Vision: Derby, the "Poster Child for Growth"

The event kicked off with inspiring speeches that presented a powerful vision for the East Midlands. Among the highlights:

East Midlands Mayor Claire Ward introduced the newly launched East Midlands Growth Plan. This ambitious 10-year strategy aims to inject £13 billion into the regional economy, provide 100,000 new homes, and equip over 200,000 people with new skills. The commitment to attracting inward investment was clear, and it was evident that many attendees shared this enthusiasm.

Councillor Nadine Peatfield, Leader of Derby City Council, proudly stated that Derby’s public-private partnerships are “utterly unique”. She emphasised that Derby is the “poster child for growth” in the region. This unified approach truly enhances confidence for investors, showcasing the strong partnership between the public and private sectors.

The Power of Collaboration

A standout theme of the evening was collaboration among various stakeholders. This partnership model has already led to exciting projects that are changing the face of Derby.

We heard inspiring stories of successful initiatives driven by collaboration. For example, the new housing developments that not only meet the needs of residents but also aim for energy efficiency and sustainability. Additionally, projects like the advanced technology hub being developed showcase Derby's role as a leader in innovation. These successes highlight the commitment to creating a supportive environment for businesses and investors, positioning Derby for significant growth.

A Bright Future Ahead

As the evening progressed, it became clear that Derby is on the brink of transformative change. The strategies outlined at the Embassy are not just aspirations; they are actionable plans already in place. The potential for growth is enormous, supported by strong public and private sector partnerships.

Discussions also emphasised the importance of sustainability and innovation for future advancement. As Derby moves forward, it is crucial to embrace these values to ensure that growth is both substantial and responsible. The emphasis on building a thriving economy while being mindful of environmental impacts resonated strongly with everyone present.

Looking Ahead: Investing in Derby's Future

Attending the London Embassy at the Tower of London was an unforgettable experience. It reinforced our belief in Derby's incredible potential. The evening was a powerful reminder of the strength found in collaboration and a shared vision for success.

Looking toward the future, it is clear that Derby is more than just a city with potential; it is a city ready to make an impact on both national and international platforms. The £13 billion growth plan represents the collective ambition of a community determined to succeed.

Leaving the Tower of London, we felt inspired and optimistic about Derby's trajectory. The partnerships being established today are set to shape the landscape of tomorrow, making Derby an emerging beacon of growth and opportunity in the East Midlands. This is precisely why T&T Assets Group is so excited about our latest development, The Forst, Derby (formerly Forester House). This project, located in the heart of the Becketwell redevelopment area, perfectly embodies the ambition and potential highlighted at the London Embassy. By converting this former office building into 73 high-quality residential apartments and ground-floor commercial space, we are not just building homes; we are actively contributing to the city's growth plan, increasing housing supply, and enhancing the vibrancy of the city centre.

The Forest is a direct investment in the very vision presented by the East Midlands Mayor and the Leader of Derby City Council: providing the quality housing and dynamic urban environment necessary to attract and retain the talent that will drive that projected £13 billion of growth. It's a testament to our con

fidence in the future of Derby as the region's economic 'poster child'.
